Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

College students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, the nation's new foreign policy of 'very disproportionate retribution' has its neighbors on edge, employers may fire workers without giving any reason, and the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Menelmacar's national animal is the Great Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Menelmacari credit.
