The Democratic Spice State of Mendachuva is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Supreme Chief Neil Malgasca with a fair hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.487 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Melgavesca. The average income tax rate is 67%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Voting is voluntary, citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages, it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws, and the government has declined to declare any particular religion as its 'official' one. Crime is totally unknown. Mendachuva's national animal is the Sandworm, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Dinheiro.

Mendachuva is ranked 6th in Confederation of Democratic Socialists and 79,241st in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -2 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
