The United Republic of Menatolo is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by The Ketua III but not for long lol with an iron fist, and notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 3.795 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Menatopia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 42%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining industries.

The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, phone taps are frequently carried out by the police, Menatolo-made cars tend to catch fire in people's driveways, and motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Menatolo's national animal is the Bear, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is The Church of Max Barry, and its currency is the Pound.
