The Five Kingdoms of Melkor Unchained is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Konrad Althalon IV with an iron fist, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 20.317 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Daturias. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 42%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Gambling.

The government is cracking down on subversive groups, city rooftops are pockmarked with the shattered remains of experimental delivery drones, only vaccinated citizens may have free healthcare, and military spending recently hit a new high. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Melkor Unchained's national animal is the ratel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the sovereign.

Melkor Unchained is ranked 2nd in Arda and 3,277th in the world for Most Influential, scoring 67 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
