The Vodka Empire of Martoosh is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by The Holy Bartender with a fair hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.985 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Temple of the Goddess Santori. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 25%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

The government is avowedly atheist, the nation is experiencing a severe shortage of sporting events, Martoosh is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, and religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else. Crime is moderate. Martoosh's national animal is the pterodactyl, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the martini.
