A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Tourism and Gambling.

Artists are pillars of society, radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, and space research funding has hit a recent high while several military bases are being closed down. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem. Manussia's national animal is the boar, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the marian.
