The Great Progressive Nation of Mahopac is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Sean Ramsey with a fair hand, and notable for its devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.248 billion Mahopacians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tyche City. The average income tax rate is 43%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Prime real estate is devoted to wind farms and solar energy generators, surrealist houses shaped like mushrooms and volcanoes dominate the wealthiest neighborhoods, third party candidates are now gaining some representation in Parliament, and litter collection has replaced fast food as the most popular after-school job. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Mahopac's national animal is the Moose, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Soldius.

Mahopac is ranked 75th in New Warsaw Pact and 26,996th in the world for Best Weather, with 22 Metres of Sunlight Above Expected.
