The Republic of MaggleMeese is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Capathy with a fair hand, and renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.487 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Meesa. The average income tax rate is 70%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, the fire protection service is wholly government-funded, students cut up leftover moosus during Arts and Crafts, and religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else. Crime is totally unknown. MaggleMeese's national animal is the moosi, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the moosu.

MaggleMeese is ranked 10th in Mars and 96,643rd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -29 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
