The Republic of Luchyen is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by The Prime Council with an even hand, and renowned for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate population of 4.971 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Veraterra-Alionne. The average income tax rate is 83%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Tourism.

Inheritance tax has recently been abolished, the wearing and manufacture of fur apparel is banned, there has been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates, and violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Luchyen's national animal is the Jaguar, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Denar.

Luchyen is ranked 33rd in South America and 97,260th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -30 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
