The Federation of Lubev is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Supply and Demand with an even hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5.842 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kaluvicha. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Beef-Based Agriculture industries.

Reports of arson have doubled since the introduction of a privatised fire protection service, recruitment posters proclaim the army to be both fabulous and fashionable, city sidewalks are crowded with overweight people, and the government has begun selling heroin and ecstasy to help fund its projects. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Lubev's national animal is the malard duck, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Gold Standard.

Lubev is ranked 105th in Capitalist Paradise and 6,209th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 10 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
