The Indomitable Kilted Legions of Lois-Must-Die is a gargantuan, devout nation, ruled by the Leader with an iron fist, and remarkable for its suspicion of poets. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 14.814 billion are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gehinnehem. The average income tax rate is 91%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The government funds private schools for intellectually gifted children, pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government, the sound of wooden legs echo throughout Lois-Must-Die after the recent introduction of the Foot Tax, and military spending is on the increase. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Lois-Must-Die's national animal is the mutant octopus, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Islam, and its currency is the death ray.

Lois-Must-Die is ranked 9th in Antarctic Oasis and 1,422nd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 35 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
