The People's Republic of Llerrac Yar is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Pyotr Kropotkin with a fair hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.071 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Social Welfare and Social Equality are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Chez Guevara. The average income tax rate is 80%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Llerrac Yar is building an army to protect its overseas territories, the government pours millions of Engelmarxs into rehabilitation programs annually, students are wary of colorfully decorated new teachers with names like Professor Pipsqueak, and kids laugh off vandalism and arson as "just fun". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Llerrac Yar's national animal is the Ginger Cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is The Cult of the Invisible Pink Unicorn, and its currency is the Engelmarx.
