The Empire of Little Rohan is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Her Most Royal Queen Brit with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.492 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt morass -- juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Edoras. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 24%. A robust private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Government spending has hit an all-time low, the education system has gotten a recent boost in spending, the populace lives in fear of painful execution for minor offences, and teenagers stay out into the wee hours of the morning "stargazing". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Little Rohan's national animal is the Goofy Goober, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Greek Pantheon, and its currency is the silver coins.
