The Community of Linkisheer is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by William Henry Allenby with an even hand, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate population of 4.618 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Cheese Exports industries.

Students are wary of colorfully decorated new teachers with names like Professor Pipsqueak, priests are being drafted by the church load, Linkisheer is increasingly belligerent on the international stage, and murder victims' families receive windfall payouts when the murderers are executed. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Linkisheer's national animal is the badger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Old Catholic Church, and its currency is the Pound.

Linkisheer is ranked 104th in Europe and 22,635th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -10 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
