OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Empire of Liberal Ukraine is a gargantuan, genial nation, ruled by Vadim Shevchenko with a fair hand, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. The compassionate, intelligent population of 20.939 billion Liberal Ukraineans love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kiev. The average income tax rate is 67%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The nation has an international reputation for compassion, cars are banned from built-up areas, the government has begun breaking all large businesses into thousands of mom-and-pop general stores, and government officials have to mortgage their homes to make ends meet. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Liberal Ukraine's national animal is the fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the hryvnia.

Liberal Ukraine is ranked 45th in USSR and 20,179th in the world for Most Subsidized Industry, scoring 27 on the Gilded Widget Scale.
