The Republic of Lexianna is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed population of 938 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 28%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Uranium Mining.

Children are raised bilingual from an early age, traveller camps regularly block five-lane superhighways, politicians are to be found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income, and the words 'private' and 'enterprise' must never appear in the same sentence. Crime is a problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Lexianna's national animal is the cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the phone.
