The Free Land of Leeste is a colossal, devout nation, ruled by LEESTE with an even hand, and notable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6.237 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The small government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Leeste City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 8%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Tourism and Gambling.

Students who refuse to pray are expelled from school, people unhook their phones at night to escape a never-ending tirade of phone calls, rag-wearing teachers are often mistaken for homeless people, and citizens simply have to point a weapon at a government official to get what they want. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Leeste's national animal is the pig, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the shekel.
