The Kingdom of Leahland is a massive, genial nation, ruled by Isabella Maguerite Lea Richele d'Mercier with a fair hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.225 billion are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Lauren. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 39%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Information Technology, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

There has been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates, the people are famous throughout the region for their bleached-white teeth, euthanasia is illegal, and the government regularly hires contractors to construct high rise apartments. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Leahland's national animal is the Snow Leopard, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Calton.

Leahland is ranked 959th in The East Pacific and 26,339th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 2 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
