The Free Republic of Lamoni is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Andrew Stinson with an even hand, and remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 19.763 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nephi. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 43%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Information Technology and Book Publishing.

Police conduct weekly raids looking for contraband cheeseburgers, commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies, an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents, and citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Lamoni's national animal is the Hawk, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rushana.

Lamoni is ranked 54th in Greater Dienstad and 94,642nd in the world for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring -357 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
