The Free Republic of Lamoni is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Andrew Stinson with a fair hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 14.887 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nephi. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Information Technology and Book Publishing.

Government-run screening operations remove embryos with severe genetic disorders, waste is frequently shipped to other countries, parents must choose their children's names from a government-mandated master list, and construction of the Really Big Hadron Collider is underway. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Lamoni's national animal is the Hawk, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rushana.

Lamoni is ranked 32nd in the region and 52,132nd in the world for Highest Unemployment Rates.
