The Free Republic of Lamoni is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Andrew Stinson with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 20.368 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nephi. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 52%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Information Technology and Book Publishing.

Glittering new sports stadiums adorn every city and town, construction of the Really Big Hadron Collider is underway, bizarre-looking creatures called 'Hawkdogs' dominate wildlife preserves, and owning a tractor is widely regarded as an essential prerequisite to most government positions. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Lamoni's national animal is the Hawk, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rushana.

Lamoni is ranked 7th in Greater Dienstad and 1,579th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 9 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
