The Queendom of Korkyran is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 575 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 43%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Abortion is only legal in unusual circumstances, businesses are forced to bring all work back within the nation’s borders, Korkyran has one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world, and young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Korkyran's national animal is the Zombie, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Bloodpint.

Korkyran is ranked 34th in USSR and 33,914th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 2 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
