The Imperial Confederation of Konosis is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Empress Deea I the Unifier with an iron fist, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.118 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The enormous, corrupt, pro-business government concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Fallen Citadel of the Storm. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Konosis's first free elections in recent memory have been successfully concluded, employers may fire workers without giving any reason, thousands of former welfare recipients are in a revolutionary uproar as the rest of society is enjoying a hefty tax break, and all tariffs have been abolished. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Konosis's national animal is the bird of prey, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is the New Path, and its currency is the gold konar.

Konosis is ranked 3rd in Korel and 2,147th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 8 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
