The Democratic United States of Kompa Ru is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 17.061 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The large government devotes most of its attentions to Commerce, with areas such as Social Welfare and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 20%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Gambling and Arms Manufacturing.

Kompa Ru successfully hosted the The Heartland Olympics, same-sex marriages are increasingly common, criminals are thrown to the German Hawks to repay their debt to society, and only adults may purchase violent video games. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Kompa Ru's national animal is the German Hawk, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Ru Dinar.
