The Kingdom of Knights Almeria is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by Gines Haro Zamora with an even hand, and renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 4.975 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Alcazaba de Almería. The average income tax rate is 80%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Information Technology and Uranium Mining.

Travellers are often forcibly evicted by torch-bearing mobs, anti-government web sites are springing up, construction of the Really Big Hadron Collider is underway, and a punitive tax has been placed on harmful emissions. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Knights Almeria's national animal is the Scorpio, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Peseta.
