The Federal Republic of Kliss is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Kraska with an even hand, and remarkable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 4.274 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Education and the Environment are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Harra. The average income tax rate is 95%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The nation has an international reputation for compassion, the mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Kliss's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance, euthanasia is legal, and citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kliss's national animal is the Tiger, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Euro.

Kliss is ranked 21st in Europe and 1,237th in the world for Healthiest Citizens, with 18 Standard Bananas Ingested per capita per day.
