The Empire of Kiaunis is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Kiaunis-man leader of all things Kiaunis with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.194 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mr Happy Funland. The average income tax rate is 63%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining industries.

Citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', graffiti artists spend lengthy periods of time in jail, young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, and citizens who become homeless are immediately executed. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Kiaunis's national animal is the Monkey, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Smittens.

Kiaunis is ranked 51st in Entity and 79,126th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -2 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
