The Most Serene Republic of Karniveras is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by President Scott Karn with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate population of 1.847 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Karnage. The average income tax rate is 78%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Information Technology.

International tensions are high as Karniveras threatens any government with the audacity to arrest its citizens, the government has begun breaking all large businesses into thousands of mom-and-pop general stores, cyber-crime and tin-foil hat sales are both increasing at record rates, and the government pours millions of Karnivores into rehabilitation programs annually. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Karniveras's national animal is the Penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Karnivore.

Karniveras is ranked 757th in the Pacific and 17,393rd in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 165 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
