The Grand Republic of Kanslavia is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Archont Drago Briznik with an even hand, and remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.986 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aria. The average income tax rate is 35%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Information Technology.

Cars are banned from built-up areas, citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system, and major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day. Crime is relatively low. Kanslavia's national animal is the Highland Cattle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Alm.
