The People's Empire of Kandorith is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Emperor Xīán with an even hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed population of 8.138 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Law & Order, and Education. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Information Technology and Arms Manufacturing.

Legislators work 24/7 due to an influx of single-issue bills, scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, and shoppers have literally had their hands full since plastic bags were banned. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kandorith's national animal is the Feathered-Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Kento, and its currency is the Qúan.
