Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.291 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kalliana City. The average income tax rate is 84%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Gambling and Book Publishing.

Homeless people are periodically found dead upon altars to assorted deities, jails have become colloquially known as 'vampire houses', there's a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, and murder victims' families receive windfall payouts when the murderers are executed. Crime is totally unknown. Kalliana's national animal is the Llama, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Liana.
