The Colony of Jevistan is a colossal, devout nation, ruled by Jay Myers with an even hand, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed population of 5.027 billion Tropical Islesians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Jevistani Center. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Woodchip Exports.

Mandatory daycare is provided by the government, CDs are regularly copy-protected, a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, and the new 'Things We Stole From Other Countries' exhibition at the National Museum of Antiquities is a hit. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Jevistan's national animal is the cat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Platinum Dollar.

Jevistan is ranked 8th in SideWalk Zone and 465th in the world for Lowest Unemployment Rates, scoring 1,265 on the Workforce Participation Versus Theoretical Maximum Metric.
