The Desperate Warmachine of Jenrak is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by a series of various leaders with an even hand, and remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 16.662 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of dependant states. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 69%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology.

The judicial branch is strongly influenced by major corporations, murderers frequently escape punishment by claiming they were protecting their honour, suburban families are finding themselves increasingly short on food as they waste precious water on their lawns, and government officials have to mortgage their homes to make ends meet. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Jenrak's national animal is the Ram, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is determined by the empire, and its currency is the Dollar.
