The United Federation of Jenlom is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Dame Jenny with a fair hand, and notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5.82 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tomdon. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 22%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Woodchip Exports industries.

The lowest age at which one can marry has been recently lowered to 12, the government is reining in public spending, wealthy parents-to-be can select their perfect baby, and almost all of Jenlom's water is piped into the country from abroad for exorbitant prices. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive. Jenlom's national animal is the Lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is not legislated for, and its currency is the Tom.

Jenlom is ranked 222nd in Versutian Federation and 130,246th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring -127 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
