The Dominion of JarVik is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Lord JarViK with an iron fist, and remarkable for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 10.258 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of JarVik City. The average income tax rate is 44%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Beef-Based Agriculture and Uranium Mining.

Gambling is outlawed, citizens are regularly found digging for treasure in their gardens, bombs are permitted on planes for the 'security of the passengers', and corporations cut costs by taking away safety-features on their products. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. JarVik's national animal is the polar bear, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the crown.
