The Kingdom of Japanada is a gargantuan, genial nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and notable for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 22.759 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Defence and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Japanada City. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The nation has an international reputation for compassion, employers may fire workers without giving any reason, Coco the Clown has been elected to the nation's parliament, and children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Japanada's national animal is the AIBO, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the PET bottle.
