The Holy Monarchy of Jamestonian Empire is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by King James I with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 2.466 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Jamestown. The average income tax rate is 95%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Gambling.

Flash floods that dams could have controlled regularly ravage small towns in mountain valleys, the government is a clear-cut case of tyranny by majority, it is a crime to offend someone's religious beliefs, and most of the military's funding goes into researching space-age weaponry. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Jamestonian Empire's national animal is the Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Jamestonian Dollar.
