Overview People Government Economy Rank Trend

The Caliphate of Iznogoud is a gargantuan, efficient nation, ruled by Caliph with an iron fist, and notable for its unlimited-speed roads, parental licensing program, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless, devout population of 28.956 billion Iznogoudians are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

The minute, corrupt, moralistic, pro-business, well-organized government, or what there is of one, is effectively ruled by the Department of Defense, with Social Policy and Environment not funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Baghdad. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Iznogoudian economy, worth an astonishing 15,323 trillion dinars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Information Technology, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is a breathtaking 529,207 dinars, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 2,966,812 per year while the poor average 46,806, a ratio of 63.4 to 1.

90% of active duty IAF personnel have been laid off and replaced by robot kill-drones, the military has forsaken terrestrial warfare, long-wed spouses often regret proposals they made when they were twenty, and every new toxic waste dump comes with a seal of approval from the government's science advisor. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, despite the fact that it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many laws. Iznogoud's national animal is the camel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is a major religion.

Iznogoud is ranked 44th in the world and 3rd in Scandinavia for Largest Mining Sector, scoring 67,197.74 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
