The Colony of Isle of the Vatican is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Jay Myers with an even hand, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.87 billion Tropical Islesians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Vatican. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Woodchip Exports.

Citizens are forced to donate blood once every three months, nursing mothers are often arrested for indecent exposure, elections have become procedural nightmares due to voters persistently rejecting candidates, and the government is pouring money into 'Operation Enduring Democracy'. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Isle of the Vatican's national animal is the cat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Platinum Dollar.

Isle of the Vatican is ranked 4th in SideWalk Zone and 2,201st in the world for Longest Average Lifespans, scoring 44 on the Enoch Index.
