The Godless Mercantile Nexus of Isla Vista is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Colonial Premier Mawaar with an even hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 25.625 billion Islanders are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Defence, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Trigo. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Healthcare funding has been cut, the adult unemployment rate nears 100% as all available jobs have been filled by young children, urban high-volume mailers now receive their mail via chauffeur-driven limousines, and young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Isla Vista's national animal is the Marsupial Tiger, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Golden Bond.

Isla Vista is ranked 159th in Wysteria and 113,030th in the world for Best Weather, with -8,316 Metres of Sunlight Above Expected.
