The Godless Mercantile Nexus of Isla Vista is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by Colonial Premier Mawaar with an even hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 25.121 billion Isla Vistans are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Defence, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Trigo. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Inheritance tax has recently been abolished, women wear burqas to avoid unwanted male attention, all judiciary cases are decided in the court of public opinion, and photographers can be found hiding behind the curtains in Colonial Premier Mawaar's bedroom. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Isla Vista's national animal is the Marsupial Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Golden Bond.

Isla Vista is ranked 191st in Wysteria and 112,201st in the world for Best Weather, with -8,092 Metres of Sunlight Above Expected.
