The Commonwealth of Indulgence and Ecstasy is a massive, economically powerful nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.685 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 60%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

The police force is on a recruitment drive, voting is voluntary, eight year-olds can be seen lighting up in public areas, and the nation has an international reputation for compassion. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Indulgence and Ecstasy's national animal is the Kiwi, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Euro.

Indulgence and Ecstasy is ranked 253rd in Europe and 32,184th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring 15 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
