The Empire of Imperialisia is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Leader with a fair hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 3.542 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Equality and Public Transport are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 51%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Soda Sales.

An underground movement of cigarette smokers has sprung up in response to a government ban, retail stores offer sales every hour on the hour, almost all of Imperialisia's water is piped into the country from abroad for exorbitant prices, and citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling". Crime is totally unknown. Imperialisia's national animal is the soldier, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the imperial.
