The Star Empire of Huerdae is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Emperor Vlais with an iron fist, and notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 7.044 billion are proud of their wide-ranging civil freedoms, and those who aren't tend to be dragged off the streets by men in dark suits and hustled into cars with tinted windows.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Helsearc. The average income tax rate is 27%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Calling out of the blue has become taboo, Salamanders are becoming popular in pet stores nationwide, private business has started paving paradises and putting up parking lots, and Huerdae is increasingly belligerent on the international stage. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Huerdae's national animal is the Salamander, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Huerdaen Ingot.

Huerdae is ranked 4th in The Milky Way Galaxy and 7,842nd in the world for Most Influential, scoring 44 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
