The Star Empire of Huerdae is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Emperor Vlais with an iron fist, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 9.221 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Helsearc. The average income tax rate is 20%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Euthanasia is legal, the nation has welcomed its expats back with open arms, politicians accepting drinks in bars are executed for taking bribes, and the bonfire of the old paper records can be seen for miles around Helsearc. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Huerdae's national animal is the Salamander, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Huerdaen Ingot.

Huerdae is ranked 13th in The Milky Way Galaxy and 24,714th in the world for Most Income Equality, scoring 157 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
