The United Kingdom of Himaayan is a massive, devout nation, ruled by His Insular Majesty Lakandula VIII with an iron fist, and renowned for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, cynical population of 2.053 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Manila. The average income tax rate is 81%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Rupert Bear is considered to be the most risqué TV programme in Himaayan, teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, and police officers have been re-kitted with designer uniforms and gold plated handcuffs. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Himaayan's national animal is the Haribon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Himaayan Catholicism, and its currency is the Suwarna.
