Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Free Land of Hex is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and notable for its national health service. Its compassionate population of 797 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Education and Healthcare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hex City. The average income tax rate is 68%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Newspapers cannot report anything about politicians without their explicit consent, the government is pouring money into 'Operation Enduring Democracy', military service is compulsory, and the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Hex's national animal is the bit, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the quanta.

Hex is ranked 3,872nd in The East Pacific and 87,775th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -3 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
