The People's Jamahiriya of Herzliyya is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by the Herzliyyan People's Vanguard with a fair hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. The compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 19.614 billion Herzliyyans enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Verda Urbo. The average income tax rate is 96%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Cities are engulfed by smog, traveller camps regularly block five-lane superhighways, Pinkerton agents are called in to forcibly break up white collar strikes, and major cities are suffering under water rationing. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Herzliyya's national animal is the giraffe, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the herzl.

Herzliyya is ranked 3,995th in The North Pacific and 111,421st in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring -14 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
