The Rogue Nation of Hedonism Reborn is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Astraea Blackthorne with a fair hand, and renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.518 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and the Environment. The average income tax rate is 79%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Military funding has been stripped back, jails have become colloquially known as 'vampire houses', the new hit series "Hedonism Reborn's Got Trauma" has corporate executives fleeing the country, and political parties are banned from advertising and receiving private donations. Crime is totally unknown. Hedonism Reborn's national animal is the Bonobo Monkey, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Spanking.
