The Democratic States of Heavenly Sol is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by Langley Kahara with an even hand, and renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 4.426 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Law & Order are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Township of Blitz. The average income tax rate is 80%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The 'kind of scrawny' 500 meter hurdle is a popular event, unstable couples are known to break up over which one gets parental leave, the government has declared its commitment to multilateralism, and local executives are seen on the corner with cardboard signs reading "will oppress the masses for food". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Heavenly Sol's national animal is the golden otter, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the solarian.
