The Incorporated States of Harrijung is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Karma van Eperbreeze with an iron fist, and notable for its complete lack of public education. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.823 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, moralistic, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Regional City. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Gambling and Uranium Mining.

Customs turn away those considered to have an unfavourable ethnicity, the government is spending billions of taxpayer Alms to support the Arms Manufacturing industry, the nanny industry has had a boom after maternity leave was recently banned, and the military has had to quell a recent insurrection by uninsured revolutionaries. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Harrijung's national animal is the Two-Headed Warbler Duck, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Alm.

Harrijung is ranked 38th in 10000 Islands and 2,304th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 8 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
