Billions of Rupees are being blown on orbital weapons development, citizens who leave the country are officially classed as traitors, citizens live in superstitious fear of the mysterious glowing clouds that float over Harodin, and the government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Harodin's national animal is the tiger, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Rupee.
