The Majestic Twelve of Haor Chall is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by the Majestic Twelve with an iron fist, and renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 15.165 billion are proud of their wide-ranging civil freedoms, and those who aren't tend to be dragged off the streets by men in dark suits and hustled into cars with tinted windows.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hive Primus. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 59%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing.

Pristine wilderness has been trashed in the quest for cheaper oil, recruitment posters proclaim the army to be both fabulous and fashionable, an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents, and organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Haor Chall's national animal is the Droideka, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Dollar.
