A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Information Technology and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, strict term limits have been applied to all elected offices, and the Supreme Court vehemently protects civil rights and the right to privacy. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Guanshiyin's national animal is the Crane, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Pure Land Buddhism, and its currency is the Bodhisattva.

Guanshiyin is ranked 3rd in Congress of the Flaming Lotus and 102,268th in the world for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 0 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
